The proposed partnership between PW Skills and MBU is designed to bring these elements into the student learning journey through a combination of specialised skill development, practical projects and structured career-preparation support.
While MBU contributes the university environment, degree programmes and academic infrastructure, PW Skills is expected to bring industry-oriented learning and a career-readiness ecosystem into the proposed programme.
The objective is to connect learning with the practical steps involved in preparing for professional opportunities.
The proposed programme covers four tracks: Data Analytics and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Full Stack Development, and Digital Marketing.
Each track has a distinct curriculum, progressing from foundational concepts towards more specialised capabilities.
Students in Data Science, AI and Machine Learning, and Full Stack Development would study Data Structures and Algorithms as a common component. Interview Preparation is planned across all four tracks, with 32 hours distributed over four semesters.
These shared elements are intended to complement technical or domain-specific learning with preparation for professional conversations and recruitment processes.
The planned career-readiness scope includes resume and portfolio building.
A portfolio can help students present selected examples of their work, explain the problems they have addressed and demonstrate how they have applied their learning. Resume development, meanwhile, can help them communicate their skills, projects and educational experience in a structured format.
The proposed curriculum also includes capstone projects in the final semester of the Full Stack Development and Digital Marketing tracks.
These projects are intended to give students an opportunity to bring together learning from different parts of their respective curricula. Their value would depend on the work undertaken, the quality of execution and how effectively students can explain their contributions.
Interview preparation is another shared component of the proposed programme.
Planned career-readiness activities include mock interviews, LinkedIn optimisation, soft-skills development and an AI Interview Coach.
Mock interviews can provide opportunities to practise answering questions, explaining projects and communicating ideas under interview-like conditions. LinkedIn optimisation and resume development can help students present their professional profiles more effectively.
Soft-skills development complements these activities by addressing communication and other professional capabilities.
The planned AI Interview Coach is intended to form part of this wider preparation ecosystem. Specific functionality and implementation details would need to be confirmed as the programme is finalised.
One of the distinctive aspects of the proposed PW Skills–MBU collaboration is its intention to connect skill development and career preparation with students' academic journey.
Instead of treating career readiness solely as a final-semester activity, the programme plans to distribute Interview Preparation across four semesters. The broader partnership scope also includes bootcamps, assessments, student feedback and progress reporting.
This structure is intended to create opportunities for career preparation alongside subject-specific learning, rather than leaving all preparation until students approach graduation.
Career readiness is one of five proposed areas of engagement, alongside academic support, technology and infrastructure, student development, and reporting and governance.
PW Skills is expected to contribute industry experts, curriculum, practical learning resources, assessment systems and career-preparation support. MBU would provide the campus environment and academic infrastructure in which the programme is delivered.
The proposed collaboration brings these complementary roles together to create a more connected approach to education and professional development.
The PW Skills–MBU partnership aims to make practical skill development and career preparation more integral to the university experience.
By combining specialised curricula with planned support for portfolios, interviews, professional profiles and soft skills, the programme seeks to help students develop capabilities they can demonstrate and communicate.
The wider ambition is to connect academic learning with the practical demands of professional life, giving students a more structured approach to developing their skills and preparing for the next stage of their careers.
