Instead of positioning practical learning as an additional activity outside the academic environment, the collaboration is designed to integrate industry-oriented learning into students' broader educational journey.
Practical knowledge develops when students move beyond understanding a concept and begin using it to solve a problem.
For example, a student learning data science needs more than an understanding of statistics. The student also needs to work with data, analyse patterns, interpret findings and understand how analytical techniques can be applied.
Similarly, learning web development involves more than understanding programming languages. It requires students to work across frontend and backend technologies, databases, APIs and application development workflows.
The proposed PW Skills–MBU model is intended to support this transition from conceptual learning to applied capability through structured curricula, expert-led instruction and practical projects.
The proposed programme offers four tracks designed around different technical and professional interests.
Data Analytics and Data Science follows a progression from Python, data handling and databases to statistics, exploratory data analysis, machine learning, MLOps, deep learning, natural language processing and generative AI.
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning begins with Python for AI engineering and mathematical foundations before progressing to deep learning, MLOps, generative AI, agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation and LLMOps.
Full Stack Development takes students from web fundamentals to JavaScript, frontend engineering, backend systems, databases, APIs, Next.js, DevOps and a capstone project.
Digital Marketing covers the digital consumer, content strategy, search engine optimisation, generative engine optimisation, performance marketing, paid media, analytics and automation.
Each track is distributed across four semesters, with proposed teaching hours varying according to the specialisation. The design reflects the need for different skill areas to have different learning requirements.
The proposed structure is intended to help students develop capabilities progressively rather than encounter all technical concepts at once.
Students in Data Analytics and Data Science, AI and Machine Learning, and Full Stack Development would share a Data Structures and Algorithms component spread across three semesters. This common foundation is intended to complement their specialised technical learning.
Interview Preparation is planned across all four tracks and semesters, creating a shared focus on communicating technical knowledge and preparing for professional opportunities. Digital Marketing pairs with Interview Preparation without the common DSA component.
This combination of specialised and common learning elements is designed to give students a structured route through their chosen discipline while also supporting broader career preparation.
PW Skills would contribute industry-oriented curriculum, live instruction from industry experts, practical learning resources and an LMS for recordings and assessments.
MBU would provide the academic environment and campus infrastructure, with an assistant faculty member physically present during classes to support students and help maintain continuity in learning.
The proposed model combines the accessibility of live digital instruction with the accountability and personal support of an on-campus classroom.
It also envisages a wider ecosystem of bootcamps, assessments, student feedback and progress reporting to help institutions monitor participation and learning delivery.
The larger vision behind the PW Skills–MBU partnership is to create a stronger connection between academic learning and the skills students need to apply their knowledge.
By bringing practical learning into the academic journey, the collaboration aims to make skill development more structured, continuous and relevant to students' chosen fields.
The goal is not to replace academic education with technical training. It is to complement the academic experience with opportunities to practise, build and develop professional capabilities.
