Programming and problem-solving skills are important parts of technical learning for students preparing for career opportunities. Through the proposed MBU and PW Skills partnership, PW Nexus aims to bring organised skill development and interview preparation into the university learning experience.
The programme includes 180 hours of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) training across three semesters for students in Data Analytics and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Full Stack Development. It also includes interview preparation and career readiness activities to help students practise technical concepts and prepare for recruitment processes.
The DSA course for MBU students is part of the PW Nexus skill development programme. It complements specialised learning tracks with training in data structures, algorithms and interview preparation.
The DSA component includes 180 hours of training spread across three semesters. It is planned for students enrolled in these three learning tracks:
Data Analytics and Data Science (DA-DS)
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML)
Full Stack Development (FSD)
For related learning in these areas, learners can explore Data Analytics with AI, Gen AI Engineering and Full Stack Development with AI.
Students in the Digital Marketing track are planned to receive the common Interview Preparation (IP) component instead of DSA. Learners who want to explore a similar option can look at the PW Skills DSA course, Decode Programming Powerhouse, which covers C++, Java, Python and DSA.
The DSA component is planned as 180 hours of training spread across three semesters, so students can build problem-solving skills gradually rather than in a single stretch. It is designed to run alongside the main learning track for students in Data Analytics and Data Science, AI and Machine Learning, and Full Stack Development.
The proposed data structures and algorithms training covers four key areas:
Algorithms: Understanding algorithms and their role in problem-solving.
Data Structures: Learning the concepts and methods covered under data structures.
Interview Preparation: Preparing to discuss and apply technical knowledge during interviews.
Advanced Algorithms: Progressing to advanced algorithm concepts.
These topics are planned across three semesters. The aim is to include problem-solving and interview preparation alongside the student's main learning track.
Learners who want to practise in one language can also explore Python with DSA, Java with DSA or C++ with DSA.
The PW Skills DSA course is planned as part of a broader skill development model that combines university education with industry-oriented learning.
The programme brings together the following contributions:
|
MBU |
PW Skills |
|
Degree programmes and academic framework |
Industry-focused curriculum design |
|
Campus and academic faculty |
Live sessions led by industry experts |
|
Academic coordination |
Learning technology and assessments |
|
University-level programme alignment |
Career readiness support |
The proposed learning model uses two forms of support in each class.
Live online sessions: PW Skills industry experts conduct live digital classes, with recordings planned to be available through the Learning Management System (LMS).
On-campus mentoring: A trained assistant faculty member is planned to be present in the classroom to support students with doubts and learning engagement.
The proposed model also includes the PW Skills LMS and LineupX for assessments, progress tracking and reporting.
Learning programming concepts is one part of career preparation. Students also need opportunities to practise explaining their knowledge and presenting their skills.
The proposed PW Nexus programme includes Interview Preparation (IP) as a common component across all four learning tracks. It carries 32 hours across four semesters.
The planned career readiness support includes:
Resume and portfolio building
Mock interviews
LinkedIn profile optimisation
Soft skills development
Career portal access
An AI Interview Coach
These activities are intended to complement technical learning and help students prepare for career opportunities. They do not guarantee placement or selection by an employer.
The proposed partnership identifies several student programmes for possible participation, including B.Tech, BCA, MCA, B.Com, MBA and other eligible cohorts. However, the final student eligibility, cohort sizes and programme allocation are yet to be aligned with MBU.
For students in the proposed DA-DS, AI-ML and Full Stack Development tracks, DSA is planned as a common learning component. Digital Marketing students are planned to receive Interview Preparation without the DSA component. Beginners who want to build a base first can explore computer science and programming fundamentals.
The final eligibility criteria and integration of the training with academic credits and examinations will depend on MBU's approval and programme alignment.
The MBU and PW Skills partnership aims to bring coding and data structures and algorithms (DSA) training into students' academic journey. The planned programme combines technical learning with interview preparation across multiple semesters. Students in the Data Analytics and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Full Stack Development tracks will have DSA as a common learning component.
Along with technical training, the programme includes resume and portfolio building, mock interviews, LinkedIn optimisation, soft skills development and career guidance support. These activities are designed to help students practise their skills and prepare for professional opportunities while continuing their academic learning.
