A college degree helps students build academic knowledge, while additional skills can help them explore different career paths. PW Skills and MBU are proposing a partnership that would pair academic degree education with training built around industry needs.
The initiative offers four skill tracks spanning data science, artificial intelligence, full stack development, and digital marketing. Plans also call for interview preparation, hands-on practice, and career readiness support. Based on their interests, subject areas, and the programme structure the university finally approves, students at MBU can pick from these value-added courses.
The programme planned by MBU and PW Skills is built around four learning tracks. Each track runs across four semesters and focuses on a specific area of skill development.
|
Skill Track |

The tracks offer different learning paths. Students interested in programming and data can explore the technical options, while those interested in online campaigns and content can consider digital marketing.
Data Analytics and Data Science is planned as a 200-hour track that runs across four semesters. Students begin with data handling, statistical analysis, and machine learning, then move on to more advanced topics.
The semester-wise structure includes:
Semester 1: Python, data handling and databases
Semester 2: Statistics, exploratory data analysis (EDA) and deployment
Semester 3: Machine learning and MLOps
Semester 4: Deep learning, natural language processing (NLP) and generative AI
This track covers the process of working with data, from handling and analysing it to exploring machine learning and AI applications. Students who want to explore data analysis further can also learn about the Data Analytics With AI Course.
Learners interested in data science and generative AI can also explore the Data Science With Generative AI Course.
The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) track includes 200 hours of learning across four semesters. It starts with programming and mathematical foundations and progresses towards advanced AI concepts.
Students will cover:
Semester 1: Core Python for AI engineers
Semester 2: Mathematics, statistics and machine learning foundations
Semester 3: Deep learning and MLOps
Semester 4: Generative AI, agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and LLMOps
This track is designed to introduce students to the foundations of AI and machine learning, followed by topics related to building and managing AI-based systems. Students who want to explore generative AI engineering in greater depth can also look at the Gen AI Engineering Course.
The proposed full stack development add-on course includes 180 hours across four semesters. It covers the different parts of web application development, from basic web technologies to backend systems and deployment.
The learning structure includes:
Semester 1: Foundations and web basics
Semester 2: JavaScript and frontend engineering
Semester 3: Backend development, databases and APIs
Semester 4: Next.js, DevOps and a capstone project
This track covers both frontend and backend development. It also includes databases, APIs and a capstone project in the final semester. Students who want to explore web development beyond these topics can learn more about the Full Stack Development with AI course.
The proposed digital marketing add-on course includes 120 hours across four semesters. It introduces students to digital consumers, content, search visibility and campaign performance.
The semester-wise structure includes:
Semester 1: Foundations and the digital consumer
Semester 2: Content, search engine optimisation (SEO) and generative engine optimisation (GEO)
Semester 3: Performance marketing and paid media
Semester 4: Analytics, automation and a capstone project
The track covers different parts of digital marketing, including content planning, search optimisation, paid campaigns and performance analysis. For additional learning related to deployment and infrastructure, students can explore the DevOps and Cloud Computing Course.
Students interested in exploring digital marketing beyond the proposed track can also learn about the Digital Marketing with AI Course.
Along with the four main tracks, the proposed programme includes common components to support problem-solving and interview preparation.
|
Component |
Duration |
Coverage |
|
Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) |
180 hours across three semesters |
Algorithms, data structures, interview preparation and advanced algorithms |
|
Interview Preparation (IP) |
32 hours across four semesters |
Interview preparation for students across all four tracks |
DSA is proposed for learners on the Data Analytics and Data Science, AI and Machine Learning, and Full Stack Development tracks. Interview Preparation is planned across all four tracks, including Digital Marketing.
These components are intended to complement the main learning tracks with problem-solving and interview-focused preparation. Students who want to explore programming concepts and data structures further can also check out the Decode Programming Powerhouse course.
The proposed learning model combines online teaching with on-campus mentoring. It follows a two-teacher approach.
Live expert-led classes: PW Skills industry experts deliver live online sessions.
Recorded lessons: Class recordings are planned to be available through the learning management system (LMS).
On-campus mentoring: An assistant faculty member supports students with doubts and classroom engagement.
Digital assessments: The PW Skills LMS and LineupX are planned to support assessments, progress tracking and reporting.
The proposed model is designed to combine industry-focused instruction with academic support on campus. Its final delivery arrangements will depend on alignment with MBU.
The proposed partnership also includes activities to help students prepare for professional opportunities. These are planned alongside the main skill tracks.
The career readiness components include:
Resume and portfolio building
Mock interviews
LinkedIn profile optimisation
Soft skills development
Career portal access
An AI Interview Coach
The proposal also includes five bootcamps covering Data Analytics, AI and Machine Learning, Full Stack Development, Digital Marketing, and DSA. Their schedules and delivery arrangements are subject to confirmation with MBU. Students exploring additional learning options related to data analytics and full stack development can also review the DA & FSD PW Skills Dhurandhar placement batch.
A degree builds the foundation, while practical skills help students prepare for changing career opportunities. Through the proposed PW Skills and MBU partnership, students can explore four add-on learning tracks in Data Analytics and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Full Stack Development, and Digital Marketing.
With expert-led classes, hands-on learning, interview preparation and career readiness support, the initiative aims to help students connect academic knowledge with industry-relevant skills. By choosing a track aligned with their interests and career goals, MBU students can work towards building the technical or marketing capabilities needed for their next steps.
